Alinma Bank of Saudi Arabia and Habib Bank Limited of Pakistan have signed an agreement related to remittance services between the banks’ respective countries. The agreement was executed at a special signing ceremony at Alinma Bank’s head office in Riyadh on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Mr. Fahad Al-Semari, the General Manager of Retail Banking at Alinma Bank,signed on behalf of Alinma, while Mr. Hassan Raza, the Head of Structured Credits and Home Remittances at Habib Bank, signed on behalf of Habib. Executives and guests from both banks were also in attendance.
Through the agreement, Alinma will facilitate “home remittances” in cooperation with Habib, with transfers being done in Pakistan Rupees.
Speaking about the agreement, Mr. Al-Semari noted the importance of establishing strong partnerships. “The notion of partnership is integral to Alinma’s business approach,” said Al-Semari. “We even refer to our customers as partners, which highlights the value we place on the relationships we establish.”
“By entering into this agreement with Habib Bank, we open the door on a mutually beneficial partnership that we hope will endure over time,” Al-Semari said.
Al-Semari also added that the remittance service would be available through Alinma’s extensive network of branches, which have now reached 95 in number.
It is worth mentioning that Alinma Bank also serves its partners (customers) through a comprehensive range of electronic services that include Alinma Internet (www.alinma.com), Alinma Phone (1-800-120-8000), Alinma Mobile, Alinma’s network of 787 ATMs, and Alinma’s newly launched smartphone application, available for Apple, Android, Blackberry and Windows smartphones.
