Alinma Bank Issues MasterCard Locally

Alinma Bank has been licensed by MasterCard Worldwide to issue its prepaid cards and credit cards through Alinma branches across the Kingdom. This step emphasizes the bank’s desire to continuously provide innovative, exemplary, secure products to its partners (clients) that meet their needs. With MasterCard, partners will benefit from the company’s worldwide recognition and acceptance both for point-of-sale purchases and ATM withdrawals wherever the Cirrus or Maestro logos are displayed.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Abdulmohsen Al-Fares, the CEO of Alinma Bank, said that Alinma was pleased to be partnered with such a quality organization. He also noted that the cards would include smart chip technology to ensure the safety and security of partner data and transactions. As always, the cards will comply fully with Shariah standards.

Mr. Al-Fares added that the partnership with MasterCard would help extend the bank’s efforts to provide special vendor offers to partners through use of the bank’s cards. He also said that the partnership would forward Alinma’s strategy to become the preferred financial partner for all.

Speaking on behalf of MasterCard Worldwide, Mr. Michael Miebach, who serves as president of the company’s Middle East and North Africa operations, said, “We are pleased to cooperate with Alinma Bank, one of the largest and newly established banks in the Saudi market, to provide a variety of services and features for MasterCard holders to be the ideal choice for them. Additionally, we will provide convenience and flexibility in internal and external payment processes.”

It is worth mentioning that the Alinma Bank was the first institution in Saudi Arabia to provide instant, in-branch issuance of smart chip ATM and credit cards.

Currently, Alinma serves its partners through 79 branches for men and women throughout the Kingdom. Additionally, the bank provides a full range of electronic channel services, including Alinma Internet (www.alinma.com), Alinma Mobile, Alinma Phone (8001208000), and a kingdom-wide network of 585 ATMs.
