Alinma Bank and the Saudi Particle Therapy Centerhave entered into an agreement through which the bank will provide the center with SAR 350 million in long-term financing.
The agreement was signed on Monday at the bank’s head office in Riyadh by Alinma Bank CEO, Mr. Abdulmohsen Al-Fares and Saudi Particle TherapyCenter CEO, Mr. Khaled Al-Muqeel.Other representatives from both parties were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Al-Fares noted that in addition to its general financing services and partner services, the bank also took seriously its strategic role in supporting government development plans. As such, said Al-Fares, the bank was actively seeking to bolster the development of various key sectors through financing and other support mechanisms.
The Saudi Particle Therapy Centeristhe first specialized center for proton therapy in the GCC and broader Middle East region. It is headquartered in the King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh and is a formal project under the Ministry of Health. The center has an integrated oncology unit and has a230 bed capacity.
Proton therapy is one of the most recent and most promising treatments for various forms of cancer. It has shown great efficacy, especially in the treatment of cancers that do not respond well to more conventional methods.
The availability of such technology represents an outstanding achievement in the medical field for the Kingdom, and makes Saudi Arabia an important regional location for the ongoing battle against one of the world’s most devastating diseases.
