The Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) culminated with Alinma Bank being recognized as the Best Islamic Bank in 2020, at GIFA’s annual awards ceremony, dedicated to presenting global excellence and leadership awards for various business sectors and prominent banking figures in Islamic banking. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, this year’s proceedings were held virtually using social media platforms.
Speaking about the accolade, Alinma Bank CEO, H.E. Mr. Abdulmohsen Al-Fares, made note of the significant progress and innovation Islamic banking has seen over the past several years, with banks such as Alinma helping to show the true face of modern Shariah-compliant banking through the delivery of innovative products and services. Al-Fares went on to thank GIFA, pledging that Alinma would continue on its mission to be a champion of Islamic banking at both regionally and internationally.
It is worth noting that last year Alinma Bank won GIFA’s Market Leadership Award for Islamic Banking 2019 and has likewise been the recipient of numerous other awards at both the local and international level. These have included two Middle East Financial Technology and Payments Conference (MEFTECH) awards in 2019, the Most Innovative Islamic Retail Bank in Saudi Arabia award at the 5th Islamic Retail Banking Awards, the Best Retail & Corporate Banking Services award from the World Union of Arab Banks, and the Best Digital Service 2019 award from the Union of Arab Banks.
The aforementioned awards were all earned as a result of Alinma’s commitment to delivering exemplary products and services to its partners (customers), a mission to which it remains committed as it strives to sustainably grow within its market and to become the preferred financial partner for all.
